Jodi is on the stand. Defense is still up.
June 4-late afternoon. Master bedroom. Jodi was going for a certain effect with the pictures. Jodi was taking pictures. She didn't have a gun or a knife in the bathroom. Jodi is taking pictures. They were trying out poses. They were laughing. It was weird. They were checking, then deleting them. He sat down at one point. She was a few feet away, so water wouldn't get on the camera.

The camera slipped out of her hand-she kind of caught it-then landed on the mat and rolled to the tile. After she dropped the camera-Travis flipped out-stood up-picked Jodi up and screaming at her-body slammed Jodi on the tile. He said a 5 yr old could hold a camera better than she could. Spit was coming out of his mouth. Jodi started running down the hallway. She ran in the closet. (now she's going into another story way back when he body slammed her again)

Oh shit- We went back a year.
Jodi wanted to look for her SS card at his house. She came over. His door was locked. Two people were making out on the couch. She was peeking through the sliding glass door. The girl re-hooked her bra and Travis stood up. Jodi left and called her dad to cry on his shoulder.
Jodi went over to Travis' house the next day. Travis was painting the laundry room. Jodi confronted him about the other girl-Travis got mad and went upstairs (remember she's scared of him) Travis is banging his head on the closet. He was a mad-man. He caught Jodi and pulled her back and finally calmed down.
June 4th-

Jodi was freaking out. Travis was chasing her (huh, I thought she went in the closet) Jodi couldn't breathe. Travis was holding on to her neck. She slammed the closet door. She remembered where he kept a gun on the top shelf. She grabbed it and pointed it at him so he would stop.
EX 70- closet. She points to the top shelf. EX 69 shows the shelf better. Corner. She knew the gun was there b/c she found it one day when she would clean. (snope)

She pointed the gun at Travis. The middle of the bathroom. Travis kept coming. Like a linebacker. Grabbed his waist and it was an accident that it went off. They fell on the tile really hard by the scales. She didn't know he was shot. They were struggling and fighting. He's grabbing at her clothes and yelling.
He said "fucking kill you bitch"
He was calling her names-a fucking idiot. She doesn't remember saying anything to him.
She wanted him to stop-he wouldn't.
She thought "crap" when the gun went off. (this bitch is fucking crazy) Now she says she doesn't remember. There are a lot of gaps.
Once she broke away from him-she remembers nothing almost for a long time. There are huge gaps. Maybe she blacked out. The clear memory after that point was driving in the desert. Jodi does not remember stabbing Travis.
EX-162 Do you remember dragging him? NO. I just remember trying to get away from him.
EX 73- She doesn't remember placing him in the shower. (fake tears)
Her memories-she put the knife in the dishwasher, but doesn't remember if it was that day. She assumes she got the knife from upstairs. She dropped the knife in the bathroom and she screamed. She thinks Travis was next to her on the floor, but she doesn't know. What else do you remember? Not much. She only remembers a "feeling" Her feeling was terror. She thought "Shit, I really pissed him off. He is angry and he wasn't going to stop" She thought he was going to kill her. (first objection from the state for leading)
She remembers what was going through her head-she couldn't believe what had happened. She couldn't rewind the clock.

Her next memory- driving. No GPS. In the desert. She had thoughts about what happened. Jodi had the gun and she threw it in the desert.
The rope- she took that also. Dumpster. Behind a gas station. She doesn't remember where. (evil bitch)
Was there blood on you? YES. She didn't have her shoes either. She got out of her car, really thirsty, and cleaned herself off with water she had in her trunk. She had her business shoes with her for PPL that she put on. She stopped a few places to drop stuff off. Jodi knew what she did was really bad and her life was over. Jodi knew Travis was dead at this point. She hoped he was alive (evil bitch) It's a nightmare she wants to wake up from. Jodi still loved him (OMG) She still loves him now but it's a different love (huh)
After the cleanup and disposal of stuff- what's next? She started looking for her cell charger. It was under the seat. She was checking her voicemails. Jodi started to realize (OMFG-this bitch is talking about her other responsibilities she had) On the other side of the Hoover Dam she pulled over and knew she was in deep trouble. She started trying to figure out how to cover her tracks. Why not call the cops? She was scared and knew the trouble she was in.( boo-Hoo-what a crazy, wacky person. This person shouldn't ever be allowed to walk around)
She felt remorse. (uh huh) Jodi was feeling a lot of emotions. She was scared and upset (why upset, Jodi?) and she wanted to die. She wasn't thinking of suicide right at that moment. Jodi decides her life was over, she didn't want people to know she did it, so she started covering it up. She called Travis' phone to leave a voicemail. She told Ryan and Leslie that she got lost. She was crying on the voicemail. She tried a few times, but she deleted them b/c they didn't sound right. She heading towards Utah and Ryan. Jodi was trying to act like herself. Jodi just wanted to hang out and have fun with Ryan-and see if there was any spark (that's what I would do after killing somebody) Jodi and Ryan cuddled and kissed. They were watching a movie. Jodi felt safe. Jodi wanted to act normal.
She was pulled over for her licence plate being on up side down. Jodi doesn't know how that happened. It was either that way when she rented it or the skater boys did it.

Jodi is on the road. What was the plan? Jodi didn't have a plan. She just wanted to go home. (she's trying to cry) She wanted to act normal and die. She was not planning on suicide on her way back home-but she did afterwards.` Did you have injuries? Yes, scraps on her ankles. She cut herself downstairs the day before they woke up. She dropped his glass and broke it and cut herself. Blood on her hands caused that injury to re-opened. (okay) The week before she cut her hand at work. Jodi made it back in time to go to work after killing Travis. She worked her whole shift.
She didn't tell her family anything. She was living as normal. She was waiting for the clock to tick down to her arrest. She was arrested in July. She thought a lot about suicide but didn't attempt to. She bought a gun. At Don's Sporting Goods. She got rid of the Spidey underwear. She was going to leave the area-maybe to kill herself, but maybe not. (uh oh)
Phone calls with Flores- June 10th. She left a voicemail.
Why? Leslie wanted her to call Flores.
Dan called Jodi on June 9 about Travis being dead.

After lunch.
Jodi is still on the stand. Defense is still up. Jodi returned the rental car but not on time. Jodi overslept. Jodi's SIL drove her to the rental place. She was scheduled to work Friday at 4pm. When she came in town-she went to grandmothers home then went to work. Jodi knew Travis was dead at this time. Jodi didn't know if anyone else knew he was dead at this time. Jodi was in fear. June 10 early in the morning and Dan called her. Jodi knew before she answered that's probably why he was calling. She contacted Brent and there was no answer, so she called Zack's girlfriend who wouldn't tell her much , so she called the bishop.

Jodi doubled over and started sobbing really hard. She couldn't stand up. Jodi was hoping the whole thing wasn't real and it never happened. Her hope was dashed when she talked to the bishop. (she's fake crying again) Things were going through Jodi's head. She didn't know how his friends had found him and what they were going through.

She didn't know what to think. Jodi had to hang up with the bishop. Jodi was scared and thought she would get arrested the next day.
Flores- She called him later in the day after talking to the bishop. Why? Leslie wanted her to. Jodi thought it would look more iffy if she didn't call him. Jodi was scared to tell Flores the truth. She was covering her tracks and keeping up the game.
Gun that Jodi buys- Don's Sporting Goods. July 1 but took possession of it July 11. It was a 9mm. Jodi didn't make any attempts to kill herself during the 3 week gap of the murder-to the gun.
Calls to Flores-Why? Continue to play the game of pretending. Two she wanted information about the case. (I don't know what happened to the third reason. She said she had 3 reasons why)
Jodi never thought about using a gun to kill herself. When she got her own gun, she though about it more. Her dad owns guns, Matt, OG, etc......and Jodi wanted guns. She wanted to be a responsible gun owner. ( along story about panning for gold and her friend) (STFU Jodi) Jodi does not feel safe around guys anymore.
Travis' death-Yes, he had memorial services. Jodi went to the memorial. (cold hearted) Jodi thought it would be iffy to others. Now Jodi is talking about her funeral and crying. They had an agreement they would attend each other's funerals. Jodi keeps her promises. WHY? Because he would have come to mine. (now she's going into another story about character)
Jodi believed in Travis. (state is objecting to leading) Jodi thought he was a good person MOST of the time. She forgave Travis for attacking her that day and blamed herself. (Bull shite. Seriously???? Nurmi is leading her straight to hell) She went to Dan's after the service-she was in the bedroom-she felt like Travis was THERE. Jodi knew he was okay and in a better place-and he wasn't mad anymore.

June 4th- Nurmi is now bringing up the first time he attacked her-Before the day of the murder.
Jodi had not forgiven herself after Travis' memorial. As of today have you forgiven yourself? (objection from the state)

Today have you forgiven yourself? No, I think I should have just left. I have a million regrets. I was scared of him and reacted. I will always regret. I blame myself.
Why do you think you had other options once it started? I didn't mean to shot him and he became a volcano. (it's all Travis' fault) She didn't know Travis was shot until Flores told her.
Jodi was acting like she had nothing to hide. Everything was normal. After she found out, then it was okay to let her emotions out. She had other emotional cries after talking to the bishop. Every night-usually. (she's a terrible faker)
Jodi only told her family he died. She didn't tell them she was there. She never told her family. Especially the sex stuff. It was embarrassing. (a long story about philosophy about "the law of attraction" and what it is) I guess Travis didn't want Jodi writing negative things in her diary about Travis. Jodi says she never said anything negative about Travis ever-except to Matt.
(I wonder why Jodi is NOT shaking on the stand if she's so upset?)
She didn't want people to know about Travis' sexual problems. Uh....she also didn't want people to know b/c it would be considered "motive to kill him"
The day she was arrested- She was moving some things to Monterrey. Car rental. She loaded the rental car up. She had things of Matt's. She took a shower. The police came. The gun was in the car. Did Flores arrest you? Officer Potter put the handcuffs on. Jodi spoke with Flores that day afterwards. Jodi gave DNA and fingerprints before she was arrested.
Questioned by Flores- She was wearing her street clothes interview. Jodi didn't tell him the truth b/c she was ashamed of what happened. That's not the type of person she is. It's just shameful. She was scared. She didn't want her family to know. (nothing about Travis at all)
The next day- She was wearing jail clothes. She was confronted with evidence that she was there. YES. She told another lie. YES. She told him about the ninja's. She was trying to create a scene. Ninja's why? IDK. Just seemed like (objection from state)

Ninjas- prior to her arrest she heard rumors flying around and Flores told her it was more than one person. Why a man and a woman? Sounded like Travis and I. Jodi thought about telling him the truth. She was nowhere near ready to tell. "NO WAY" on telling Flores about the sexual thing with Travis. She was worried about their reputations. She didn't see the benefit to tell the truth. It would cause pain. She was protecting Travis ( yep) Jodi considered Travis her friend. Travis image was more important than Jodi's own future. Jodi didn't have a future.
Jodi had plans to kill herself, but it wasn't set in stone. Jodi took steps after she was arrested. Jodi decided then-after her arrest. Jodi bought a bunch of Advil (in jail b/c you can buy a bunch of stuff) and she took it the next day and double edge razors. She took that apart. Jodi didn't want her room mate on the bottom bunk to get blood on he-she wrapped towels around her body, then she nicked herself on the wrist. It was like a paper cut. She wanted to be dead by Travis' birthday. She couldn't go through with it.
Media- They reached out to Jodi's family. CBS. Leach. They came to do an interview. Jodi thought maybe it was a sign-do the interview, then kill herself. Jodi wanted to tell her side. She didn't want to be remembered as the girl that can kill.

Media interviews- Jodi didn't just want Travis' family and friends to be the ONLY side in the interview (that right there tells you all you need to know about Jodi). She wanted the world to see her as a normal person (Okay, hows that working for you now, Jodi?) Jodi is worried about her image. She decided to stick with the "stupid" story she told Flores. Leach interviewed Jodi at the jail. The suicide got put on hold, but she planned not to be around by the time it aired. She did another interview with 48 hrs. This interview was at the jail.
Why did you describe your childhood as ideal? I thought it was (objection from state as leading) I guess when mama wasn't beating her with the wooden spoon-Life was great for Jodi. Jodi sugar coated everything. She never mentioned in the interviews that she was abused by Travis. Jodi didn't want anybody to know. MOTIVE-that's what she said. She was worried about people thinking it would be a motive (LOL) They talked about the sex in the interview. Why was that Okay? I didn't go into details about that either. The naked pictures were already known.
The phone call with Flores-Jodi admitted there was a sexual relationship with Travis. Why? I thought it would establish that we were close. (she was trying to protect herself)
Jodi had told other people about her sexual relationship. Jodi said she confessed to her bishop. Jodi didn't want people to know b/c it's embarrassing.
The Spiderman underwear and text messages were not something Jodi thought other would know. She figured some of the text were still there. She ASSumed.
Phone sex- That was not in the phone when Jodi was arrested.
Why do you continue with the ninja story? I didn't want to admit to any involvement.

Late Afternoon

Jodi is still on the stand. Nurmi is still up. The cat was out of the bag for Jodi and Travis' sex life. The dirty little secret was out. Jodi told Erin about Jodi's and Travis' sex life. Erin wasn't living like a normal mormon and wouldn't judge her. Jodi felt more comfortable talking about these things after Travis passed. (what a bitch)
Interviews- yes, she did more. Inside Edition. (Jodi started talking about her other attorney and JM objects.) The police encouraged Jodi to speak to Inside Edition (uh huh)
No jury will ever convict me. Do you recall that? Right. Those were bitter words Jodi would ever eat. Jodi planned to be dead. That was her hope. (she's backtracking and going into long details) and Jodi is talking about how her story was all over the news and she had to watch it in the jail.
Jodi's versions of events- different stories. Why tell the truth now? (state objects)
It wasn't an overnight decision. She always wanted to. She would have rather went to her grave. She was ashamed of it. As the years went back, and so many nice people reaching out that believe in you. My family remains supported and love her. She realizes that she should tell the truth. Jodi's truth evolved. She confused and told everyone what she could remember. The ninja story was BS
