4/25/13 Day 54- Another Juror bites the dust!

‎4/‎25/‎13
Morning Session
Jodi is wearing the very ugly brown sweater with green shirt underneath.
Jenny told me I must be a good actress today!

They go right to an approach (I have a feeling it's going to be a graphic day b/c I just seen a flash of a body shot of Travis in JM's hand)

JM is up for the state. He calls Dr. Horn.
A little eye candy

Medical examiner for Mesa.
The Graphic Body pictures!!
EX 207- Gunshot wound. Horn says Travis would have collapsed pretty soon. Horn says he doesn't think Travis would have been able to hold on to somebody. Travis would not have been able to defend himself. Travis would not have been able to raise his hands.
EX 174- Back of Travis' right hand.
EX 175-Back of the hand
EX 176- Palm of the right hand.
EX 177- Right hand and there is an injury on his thumb. Defensive wound.
How very sad for this family

EX 178- Left hand
EX 179- Left hand- injuries to his hand.
EX 180- Palm injuries. Defensive wounds. Travis tried to grab the knife in Horn's opinion.
EX 182- Left hand  injuries-deep.
EX 183- Injuries to the thumb. Defensive wounds. Horn says Travis would not have been able to defend himself if he was shot first. Horn thinks Travis couldn't crawl away, either if he was shot first.
EX 184- Stab wounds in stomach and neck. Dr. Horn is explaining how/why Travis couldn't have been shot first.
EX 205- Throat cut. Dr. Horn said it happened why he was still alive.
Jodi is trying very hard.

JM is finished

Palin is up
Horn admits he did over 6000 autopsies. 25 is a lower cal. weapon. The bullet was stopped by the bone. Dr. Horn says the shot would have been rapid. The bullet went into the sinus cavity. Horn admits blood would have filled the mouth and could have been sprayed out.  Palin is bringing up the Flores conversation.
Palin is finished
Check out my elbow! I bet I can touch
it with my tongue.

JM is up
The doctor says the bullet would have incapacitated Travis. The bullet went through the frontal lobe into the left cheek.
My prayers are with this family!

Jury questions

  • If Jodi stabbed Travis in the middle of the bathroom, wouldn't there be blood in the bathroom floor? yes
  • Is it possible you are wrong? I don't believe so
  • Explain a different outcoming? Don't understand the question
  • Could Travis have moved well at any time after being shot? If the bullet had not moved through his brain
  • How do you know Travis was still alive when his throat cut? Lots of blood shows his heart was still pumping
  • How many time have you worked on cased involving 25 cal? 100-200 times
I hope those stupid jurors can see me.
This is hard work

JM is up
The bullet would have immediately incapacitated Travis b/c of the brain injury in the frontal lobe. Horn said Travis would not have been able to get up and walk around.
JM is finished
If they only knew what I was really thinking
right now!

Palin up
Knife wounds-lots of blood in the hallway. Is that where it happened? I can't recall.
The bullet came in from the right side and went down. Horn says the bullet could have been reflected by the bone.
Palin is finished

Jury has to go back to the jury room.
Judge wants to see attorneys in chambers
I forsee some BS

Her tears dry pretty quick.

After break
Juror #8 has been dismissed
Juror #8

The state rests! (You could barely hear JM say it, but he did)
Court is over!

Three down! Nurmi got his way and had another one dismissed this close to the end. How many does that leave?

The fuckery that exists in this trial is mind blowing! Thank you for your witty recaps. You're one of my favorite people on the forum.

I hope no more jurors get dismissed. This trial needs to hurry up and end before we lose more.
